Introduction
This call for applications builds upon the baseline study on localizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for Civil Society organizations in Central and Western Uganda, conducted by Kampala Analytica between September and October 2024. The results indicated significant potential and plans for Civil Society Organizations to adopt artificial intelligence among their operations.
To facilitate the implementation and adoption of these plans, Kampala Analytica is organizing a three-day in-person hackathon in Kampala, scheduled for January 2025. The hackathon will provide a platform for CSOs to translate their ideas into real-world prototypes, showcasing the potential of AI in social good and sustainable development.
Objectives
- Empower CSOs to identify AI-driven solutions for local and community challenges
- Assist in developing prototypes for the top ideas submitted by CSOs
- Provide participants with hands-on experience in applying AI solutions and problem-solving techniques
- Foster collaboration among CSOs, AI enthusiasts, experts, and other key stakeholders
- Promote the development of innovative, sustainable solutions that CSOs can implement in Uganda
